The New Orleans Police Department's Second District covers the majority of the Uptown, beginning at Louisiana Avenue and running west along the river to the Jefferson Parish line, north nearly to Mid-City.

The Second District serves the following neighborhoods: Hollygrove, a corner of Dixon, Leonidas, the western portion of Gert Town, Marlyville-Fontainbleau, Broadmoor, East Carrollton, Black Pearl, Audubon, Freret, Milan, Uptown, Touro, West Riverside, East Riverside, and a sliver of Irish Channel along the river.

The district is divided into 22 zones identified by letters A through U.

In 2010, soon after Ronal Serpas became police superintendent, Capt. Darryl Albert was made commander of the district, succeeding Bruce Little.
