Jay Dardenne

Jay Dardenne is the Republican Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana and a former Secretary of State. He was elected in 2010 in a special election to succeed Mitch Landrieu, who had been elected mayor of New Orleans that spring.

Dardenne led the first ballot for Secretary of State with 30 percent of the vote in a special election in 2006, and his runoff opponent withdrew from the race. He was re-elected in 2007 with 63 percent of the vote[1].
